1st 4 Biofuel ran a 2 year test project with Simmonds Transport and STA vehicle centre in order to produce a maintenance and alteration schedule for a mixed range of commercial vehicles running on Biodiesel. The outcome of this 2 year testing proved that when running on the 2 mixtures ( B50 & B100) at the set schedules there were no failures or breakdowns. The whole of there fleet has successfully been running for 2 and a half years.

The following schedules are recommended for vehicles running on Biodiesel:

FILTER CHANGES

Once the vehicle starts on Biofuel it will need to have the fuel filter changed after the first week of running.  The Schedule then changes for fuel filters per percentage mixtures used;

1. B50 every 12 weeks
2. B100 every 6 weeks

OIL CHANGES

Oil changes are only altered when you decide which mix to run.

• B50 no alterations
• B100 one extra oil change per year.
